At Calderdale Home Care, we believe carers deserve proper training, real support, and the time to truly learn their role, not rushed inductions or box‑ticking exercises.

One of our care professionals, Sarish Javid, joined us with 11 years of experience in the care sector. After completing our two‑week induction programme, Sarish described it as the best and most thorough training they had ever received.

Our induction combines structured learning with extensive hands‑on practical training, covering communication, confidentiality, health and safety, medication, safeguarding, moving and assisting, first aid, and infection prevention, alongside person‑centred approaches to care.

What makes our training different is the depth and the focus on safety, dignity, and independence. Practical sessions go far beyond demonstrations, giving carers the chance to fully understand equipment such as hoists, stand aids and slide sheets, and how to use them correctly, protecting both the carer and the person being supported.

Experienced carers often tell us they learn safer, simpler techniques they had never been shown before, even after many years in the role. Our training emphasises reducing physical strain, promoting independence where possible, and supporting people in a calm, respectful way.

Led by experienced trainers, our sessions are interactive, supportive and welcoming. Questions are encouraged, techniques are explained clearly, and learning happens in an environment where people feel comfortable and valued.

At Calderdale Home Care, we don’t expect carers to “figure it out as they go.” We invest in our people so they feel confident, capable and proud of the care they deliver.

If you’re looking for a care provider that values experience, invests in training, and genuinely supports its team, Calderdale Home Care is a place where carers can grow and thrive.

At Calderdale Home Care, we know that outstanding care starts with valued, supported, and well‑trained people. That’s why we invest heavily in our team, from day one and throughout their journey with us.

Our care professionals receive a comprehensive induction programme, combining classroom learning with hands‑on practical training. This ensures every member of our team feels confident, capable, and prepared to deliver safe, compassionate, person‑centred care in people’s own homes.

Training covers essential areas including dementia care, safeguarding, medication, moving and handling, mental capacity, infection prevention, communication, and end‑of‑life care. Practical sessions include specialist equipment, hoists, slings, catheter care, and safe mobility techniques, building real confidence for real‑world care.

But it’s not just about training. We foster a supportive, respectful culture where carers feel listened to, appreciated, and encouraged to grow. Our managers and trainers take time to answer questions, provide guidance, and ensure no one feels unsupported.

Many of our team members join us after challenging experiences elsewhere. What they consistently tell us is that Calderdale Home Care feels different, professional, well‑led, and genuinely caring about both clients and staff.

If you’re kind, calm, caring, and committed to making a difference, and you want to work for a company that recognises your value, Calderdale Home Care is a place where you can thrive.
